12/9/2023 0 Comments Next step mcat half lengthI never really did well on AAMC CARS practice if it wasn't an FL (I did terribly on the QPacks) because I was always super distracted and unmotivated and only ever found success in a timed FL setting, so really just yell at yourself to focus and shut away any distractions. I think another big part is just paying attention and really forcing yourself to focus. I hear that EK exams are good, but I can’t personally attest to that. Kaplan FL’s are good for building stamina and filling content gaps. Tbh I'm not sure how much it helped me to identify what was important, for me I think it was more that the time it took for me to move my mouse to the highlight button (I didn't use the keyboard shortcut) was enough time to slow me down just enough so that I was actually processing what I was reading. Based on my experience and the feedback I’ve seen, I’d say that Next Step offers the best third-party practice exams. Basically I think I was trying to read too fast and not digesting anything, so I started using the highlight tool to highlight key tone words in a sentence (even if it's completely unrelated to the main idea), and then anything that I did think was related to the main idea. Thanks! And yeah no problem, I actually took my strategy off a CARS passage walkthrough by a guy with a channel named Eric Sun MD or something like that. /r/GAMSAT - Australian & UK Medical school Admission Test.P/S = Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior (Tentative) AAMC Sample FL Score ConversionĬ/P = Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological SystemsĬARS = Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skillsī/B = Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems # Correct -> Scaled Score Converter for AAMC Material These posts will be removed and the user banned without warning, subject to the discretion of the mod team Learn MoreĪll of the above rules are subject to moderator discretion High Yield MCAT Links You have signed an examinee agreement, and it will be enforced on this subreddit.ĭo not intentionally advertise paid or free products or services of any sort.
